About Rice & Times sole purpose is to provide understanding to the unique experience of living as an Asian-American. The idea for the website was born out of lack. I was lacking something in my life that I needed to fulfill. It is hard living as an Asian-American because you don't exactly fit in with your traditional Asian family values and the American establishment that you're trying to inflitrate. So I was looking for something that will comfort me in knowing that someone else out there knew what I was going through on a daily basis. Put up or Shut up So I decided enough with the dreaming. I had to take action and get the ball rolling. Enter Rice & Times. This website is my answer to what I really want to read in an "Asian-American" website. You will find articles that vary in its topic because the Asian-American community is diverse and the website should reflect that. Flow like Water "Be formless, shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup it becomes the cup. If you put it into the bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a tea cup it becomes the tea cup. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend." - Bruce Lee I couldn't have said it any more eloquently. Rice & Times is going to thrive as an organic, evolving entity by tapping into the pulse of the Asian-American nation. Most importantly, the content will reflect life as an Asian-American because sometimes I like to read about things that are non-Asian but have an Asian twist to it.
